About Dr. Lanaville

Having over 15 years of education and experience, I specialize in forensic and clinical assessments, education, and testimony for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)/Coercive Control (CC), child abuse in its many forms including IPV/CC, and general individual needs for therapy. What Courts, Judges, and attorneys need now more than ever is education and information that ties in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) statistics and outcomes with IPV/CC. The absence of this education and information is contributing to detrimental outcomes in custody cases, measurable mental and physical health complications, financial and litigation abuse, and a lack of protection for adult/child IPV/CC victims.

Another emerging area of need is education and information about clergy abuse. Each day, more clergy abuse is revealed with uncounted survivors of trauma and manipulation. Many professionals, myself included, are beginning their learning curve in this developing and disturbing trend. As more abuse is discovered, I am developing my knowledge base to accommodate victims and to provide education and information as needed wherever possible.

Licensed in North Carolina and Virginia, and located in the Roanoke, Virginia, area, I provide civil/criminal assessments in court cases such as mental status, insanity, competency, adult/child trauma therapy/assessment, Parental Capacity Evaluations, and assessment for individual needs.

My evaluations and therapy are tailored to provide informed answers that are supported by research and data. The information I provide to courts, Judges, or attorneys is research-informed and statistically balanced.  I am very motivated to hear and tell your story when needed. I am passionate about my clients’ needs and how to best serve them
